What makes beer good?
Das reinheitsgebot - or something like that. The purity law, use of only malt, hops, yeast and water - we dont want all kinds of other junk in the beer, certain wheat based ones are ok but for the most part it should be barley!

When people know you like beer, and not as in volume but as per quality and taste, it is interresting how many different gifts you get over the years that relate to beer. Beer bread, beer shirts, beer hats, beer making stuff, beer books, beer mustard, beer potatochips, beer subscriptions, beer, beer underwear, beer glasses, beer pints, tums, beer stocks.

Something about beer is usually on my christmas list!

Why Beer?

Well, just like wine, it is in its pure form a very simple, old and delicious tasting beverage, made from roasted malts (preferably barley), hops, yeast and water. When you get a good beer made according to the purity laws, you can taste the different components and "feel" what the brewer was trying to express - the type of malt used, how roasted or burnt it is, the type and amount of hops added - if the beer is a microbrew that has not been pasteurized, this is to me the best taste in this world.

Beer

It is the best beverage ever invented - that is if it made right, Barley, Hops, Yeast and Water - no more, no less, unless is it a Wheat/Weiss style beer, which is ok but not my favorite kind... Cheers!
